procedures, homework and assignments, as well as upcoming events.

Absence Policy
Please call the school before 8:45 a.m. if your child is going to be absent from school
If the secretary is not available, please leave a message on the answering machine indicating a reason for the absence
Your child must bring a note on returning to school after an absence
If we have no notification of absence, a call will be made home, your work, or to alternate numbers to seek the reason for the student's absence
School Hours
Opening bell rings at 8:55 a.m.
Recess is at 10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
Lunch bell rings at 11:45 a.m.
Afternoon bell to return to class rings at 12:45 p.m.
Recess is at 3:05 - 3:20 p.m.
We do not wish to infringe upon the rights of children to have sufficient time for sleep, play, or the time to participate in home activities but it must also be recognized by parents and students, that with the Ministry Curriculum, students will have homework. However, effective use of class time will dramatically decrease the workload at home.
On a daily basis, Grade 5/6 students are expected to use their Day Planner/Agenda to build habits of success. The Agenda states three main goals:
To record homework
To facilitate communication between home and school
To provide helpful hints in goal-setting
Day Planners/Agendas must be signed each day by a parent or guardian.
