Do you have Tuck Everlasting questions to catch up on ??

Math

Gr. 5--Sheet p. 36

Gr. 6--Sheet p. 37

Social Studies

Students will be doing a research assignment on a Canadian Olympic athlete.  I encourage the students to visit some Olympic websites to learn about Canadian athletes that will be participating in a variety of sport competitions in February in Vancouver.  A website that has some interesting information is:  http://www.vancouver2010.com/

They will research information on this person, and summarize the important information into their own words.  We will continue to practice how to read information and put it into our own words at school - this is a very important skill for students to learn!

Science

Our unit on Structures and Mechanisms looking at forces that act upon them has begun.  The final project of the unit will be to build an Olympic Structure that includes at least one pulley, at least one gear and can hold a specific amount of weight.  (Lego pulleys and gears will be allowed.)  The structure is to be constructed totally of recycled materials.  Please start saving recyclables that might work well for this assignment.

Art

We will be looking at the colour wheel and mixing colours to paint.  If you have an old shirt that can be used as a paint shirt, you could bring it to school and leave it here for the unit.

Work on your COOL/WARM art....plan to be able to finish it by the end of Friday.

Religion

Remember what Mary was asked to do...we should not hesitate to do what God asks of us. :)
