Principal's Message
Welcome to the St. James website!
Dear
Parents,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome your children back to school! For those
students who are returning, I hope that each of you had a joyful summer with
family and friends. I offer an especially warm welcome to our new families!
This promises to be an exciting year at St. James School! Teachers and school
staff have been working hard throughout the summer to prepare the building,
the classrooms and themselves for this academic year. Teachers have spent
time getting ready to welcome your children and they are ready to provide them
with challenging and engaging educational experiences.
Home-School communication is important to us at St. James. Classroom
teachers will communicate with you through your child’s agenda, classroom
newsletters and calendars and phone calls. The school publishes a newsletter on
a bi-weekly basis; our first edition will be sent next Wednesday September 10th.
Please look for this on the St. James website, and take time to read all about
the
many wonderful things that are happening here at St. James!
There are some exciting changes here at St. James. We welcome to St. James
School the Best Start Program, operated by the Seaforth Co-operative Children’s
Centre Inc. As principal of the school, I am very pleased to work in partnership
with Huron County Children’s Services to offer child care in an educational
setting
St. James will continue to promote activities that demonstrate we are a
Community of Caring. As a new initiative, we have signed up to be and Eco-
School which follows through nicely on the environmental stewardship theme we
introduced last year. Our Arts program will be active and our students will
continue to develop Literacy and Numeracy skills. Faith development for all of
our students will continue to receive prominence and priority in our classrooms
and school celebrations.
I look forward to working with the students, staff and parents during this year.
Please consider becoming part of our School Advisory Council, the Healthy Snack
program, or volunteering in another capacity. Together, parents and educators
can provide learning opportunities that will help our children become the best
that they can be. Here’s to a great year!
Sincerely,
Joanne Lombardi
