We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday, September 8th, 2015!

The school day begins at 8:55AM.  All Gr 1-8 students will attend an opening day assembly in the gymnasium to begin the day.

JK and SK students will have received their start date and conference date information from their teachers.  If there are any questions, please call the school.

In order to ensure student safety, please ensure that your child(ren) is dropped off to the designated, supervised area each morning.  All students, JK-Grade 8, will be dropped off to the SOUTH playground area of the yard.  The yard will be supervised from 8:40 AM until the bell at 8:55AM.  Please DO NOT drop students off prior to 8:40 since there is no supervision prior to 8:40AM.

Parents who are driving students to school are asked to please park in the designated parking spaces in front of the school or around the corner on Gouinlock Street but PLEASE DO NOT park on Chalk Street adjacent to the playground.  Buses will drop students off on Chalk Street beside the SOUTH playground and it is not safe for other vehicles to stop there.

At dismissal, bus students will exit the building first.  Following this, students in JK, SK, Grade 1 and 2 will exit from the NORTH door, located on the church parking lot side.  Parents and caregivers are asked to please meet their child(ren) there at 3:25.  Students in Grades 3-8 will be dismissed from the side and back doors by their teachers.

***Please ensure that your child's teacher knows the daily dismissal routine.***

If there is any change, please ensure that the teacher knows in the morning.  This can be communicated using the student planner or communication book.  In the event of a last minute change, please call the office ASAP to inform the office assistant.  To ensure student safety, students are not permitted to leave in a manner that does not coincide with the direction we receive from parents.

As a community, we all work together to ensure that everyone feels a strong sense of belonging.
Actions and words that hurt others are not a reflection of our school mission.

Together we ensure that St. James Catholic School is a school community marked by respect, love acceptance and peace.

We strive to bring our School's Mission to life, each and every day.  As members of the St. James Catholic School Community, we challenge ourselves and one another to carry our mission forward at school and in the wider community.  Our Mission was developed by the members of our school community and we continue to work hard to make our mission explicit in our actions and words.  It is our sincere hope that you will see signs of our commitment to faith, family and friends when you meet us, enter our school and connect with us in any way.

You are WELCOME at St. James!

Our Mission is a daily focus at our school:

St. James Catholic School community believes and practices Jesus teachings.  Joined together – children, staff and parents – we celebrate our learning and traditions with

FAITH, FAMILY and FRIENDS in a meaningful and FUN way.

The Call of Discipleship

At St. James Catholic School we strive to follow in the footsteps of our Patron Saint, James, and live a life of DISCIPLESHIP.        When we speak, listen, collaborate, play and pray, we strive to follow Jesus.

St. James was one of the first DISCIPLES of JESUS.  Like St. James, we are reminded to turn toward JESUS and to follow him.  We are DISCIPLES of JESUS when we live our lives with FAMILY, FAITH and FRIENDS in a FUN and meaningful way.

Welcome to the Home of the CARDINALS!

At St. James Catholic School Community in Seaforth, we practice the Cardinal Virtues of Prudence, Temperance, Justice and Fortitude.  Within our faith-filled community, we respect and value the differences of every individual.  We encourage each individual to foster and grow his/her God-given potential. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and work with the home, parish and wider community to nurture the academic and spiritual lives of our students.
